David Aeneas Giger is an emerging photo artist from Switzerland who lives in Bali, Indonesia. After making his Master in Political Science at the University of Zurich, he noticed that the more he knew about politics the less he liked it. During two years of employment as a journalist for a Swiss newspaper, he rediscovered where his real passion lay: In telling a good story. That's why David sees himself mainly as a storyteller. He does not only tell stories with his photos and edits but also the traditional way with words only.

His approach to art could best be described in three words: Old is beautiful. His vision is based on the belief that real beauty needs time to grow, that character is shaped by edges and flaws, that something special develops only when time has the chance to put its marks on it.

This love of the beauty of age and imperfection started with taking photos of old people and continued with photos of walls at the end of 2009. His photos from dirty and decayed walls from over 25 different countries are very colorful and full of texture. So often they look like abstract paintings. Especially so when a work is printed on a large canvas and put on a stretcher frame.

His style is developing further into digital art where he combines his photos of walls with other photos, especially the ones of old people and recently also with ancient warriors. Thanks to his camera with 50 millions pixels, these edits show very fine details even in high resolution.

David also works as a photographer. He had several assignments for the shooting of sunglasses for SevenFriday. During one of these he traveled all around the world to shoot everyday people in the streets with the prototype of the first SevenFriday sunglasses. Thanks to his experience in Traveling and Streetphotography, David not only managed to organize the trip all by himself on short notice, but he also delivered photos from interesting people out of 12 cities around the world (link):
